Become a member

In order to become a member you have to belong to one of the core ARCTOS institutions: Akvaplan-niva, IMR, Nord University, NPI, UNIS, and UiT. Students have to have at least one supervisor belonging to one of the core ARCTOS institutions.

Send a short application (1/2 page) to arctos@bfe.uit.no including:

• Why you want to become a member of ARCTOS (expectations/contributions)
• A description of your field of interest or if you are a student, the title of your MSc/PhD project and a short description
• Do you already have cooperation with ARCTOS member(s) and if no, who would you like to cooperate with in particular? (not relevant for MSc/PhD students)
• Students should name their supervisors
• In addition, please send a short CV

The decision on membership is taken by the ARCTOS secretariat. Please note that your membership ends when the position you had when applying ends. We encourage you to send us a new application when you transition to a new position. If your new position is within the six core institutions, no cover letter or CV is required but for affiliated members they are still requested.
