Bernhard Schartmüller
PhD Project title:
Underwater hyperspectral imaging: Methods for identification, monitoring and mapping of light regime and biogeochemical objects in polar regions.
PhD Project description:
The focus of my PhD research will be on developing methods for the use of Underwater Hyperspectral imaging for measuring the light regime under sea-ice and the identification, mapping and monitoring of sea-ice fauna and algae communities. These methods have the potential of making the mapping of arctic marine ecosystems more efficient and therefore contribute significantly to the main research focus of ARCTOS.
