In order to encourage a true discussion about how to proceed, with constructive feedback and advice, two ARCTOS members are assigned as censors for the presentation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"art-PostContent\">\n<div class=\"art-article\">\n<p>NB! Respect timing<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Presentation<\/strong> (20 min talk + 10 min for questions and comments\/advice)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Theoretical frame\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Background<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>state of the art<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>knowledge gaps<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>objective<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>motivation<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hypothesis<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Methodology<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Progress plan\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Identify difficult\/challenging issues (practical or analytical) <\/strong>\u2013 ask for constructive feedback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. \u00a0Presentation (first paper)\u00a0(<\/strong>20 min talk + 15 min for questions and comments\/advice)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Theoretical frame\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Background<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>state of the art<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>knowledge gaps<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>objective<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>motivation<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hypothesis<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Methodology<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Results<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Which samples\/data have been collected so far, and how did you analyze them?<\/li>\n<li>Do you need more samples\/data to answer your question? What kind (although maybe not in the original plan)?<\/li>\n<li>Are there more analyses (both methodological and\/or statistical\/mathematical) that would be useful to do (although maybe not in the original plan)?<\/li>\n<li>Do the current results answer your question? Which questions remain open? Which of these can be addressed in the last part of the PhD?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Preliminary conclusions\/discussion<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Progress \u2013 deviations from original progress plan?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Only for students that follow BIO-8504:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
