wide\nrange of topics related to <strong>land-ocean\ninteractions<\/strong>, with a focus on how <strong>terrestrial\ninputs can affect<\/strong> <strong>Arctic \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The MSc\nprojects will be connected to several ongoing research projects focusing on\nquantifying terrestrial inputs (e.g. from rivers and glaciers) to Svalbard\u2019s\ncoastal waters and exploring the effects of these inputs on coastal ecosystems.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potential\ntopics for MSc projects include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Seasonality in fluxes, chemical\ncomposition and bioavailability of river inputs to Svalbard\u2019s coastal waters<\/li><li>Pairing field observations with\nremote sensing and <em>in situ <\/em>sensor observations to determine spatial and\ntemporal patterns in freshwater influence (SPM, CDOM) and phytoplankton biomass\n(Chl a) in Svalbard\u2019s coastal waters<\/li><li>Effects of riverine\/glacial inputs\non coastal food web structure and mercury bioaccumulation on the East Coast of\nSvalbard<\/li><li>Other related topics may also be\npossible, depending on student interests and ongoing research activities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The MSc\nstudents will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>participate in field work on\nSvalbard<\/li><li>gain valuable experience in lab\nmethods, data analysis, and scientific writing<\/li><li>be a part of a dynamic,\ninterdisciplinary and international project team<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students\ncan be based at <strong>UNIS<\/strong> or <strong>UiT<\/strong>.
