{"id":1142,"date":"2020-03-19T13:41:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-19T11:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arctos.uit.no\/?p=1142"},"modified":"2020-03-19T13:41:07","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T11:41:07","slug":"arctos-days-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arctos.uit.no\/?p=1142","title":{"rendered":"ARCTOS Days 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It has become a tradition that the annual meeting of the ARCTOS network takes place on beautiful Sommar\u00f8y and we usually get rewarded with fantastic weather. This year was no exception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the circumstances were rather special this year and shortly after this meeting, all meetings had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we had a record high number of people attending. In total, one Master student, 15 PhD students, 11 post-docs, and 19 senior members attended the meeting (<a href=\"https:\/\/arctos.uit.no\/?attachment_id=1145\">list of participants<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/arctos.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ARCTOS-Days-2020.pdf\">program<\/a> consisted of ARCTOS news, presentations by new students and members, a poster session, and a special focus session about the southern polar front in the Barents Sea, which will be the focus of the ARCTOS research cruise hopefully taking place in May. One main outcome of the cruise will be a topical paper about the polar front and with this session we wanted to collect current knowledge\/gaps and create a basis for fruitful discussions regarding the cruise plan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has become a tradition that the annual meeting of the ARCTOS network takes place on beautiful Sommar\u00f8y and we usually get rewarded with fantastic weather.
