\nThe 11th <\/sup>Annual Scientific Meeting of ArcticNet was held in Vancouver, December 7th<\/sup>-11th<\/sup> 2015.
\nArcticNet is funded by the Government of Canada through the Networks of Centres of Excellence program, and its main focus is to improve our understanding of the transformation of the Arctic environment. The meeting covered a wide range of Arctic relevant topics in the natural and social sciences as well as human health issues. Although the meeting this year had a national focus, ARCTOS leader J\u00f8rgen Berge (UiT\/UNIS) was invited to give one of the opening addresses in the plenary program presenting results on the unexpected levels of biological activity found in the polar night period in Svalbard waters (Kongsfjorden). Tove M. Gabrielsen (UNIS\/currently at ULaval, Quebec) also participated with a poster on the Isfjorden system.<\/p>\n

ARCTOS scientists may want to mark their calendars with the dates for the 2017 ArcticNet meeting, which is planned as an international meeting and will be held in Quebec City December 11th <\/sup>-15th <\/sup>.<\/p>\n
