Five years after the last ZPS in Chile it was time for zooplankton researchers to meet again in Bergen, Norway. With specific sessions such as ‘zooplankton in high latitude ecosystems’, ‘response of zooplankton communities to changing ocean climate’, and many others focusing for example on macro- and microzooplankton, and the application of a number of new techniques and methods, it was no surprise that quite many ARCTOS members and associates decided to travel to the ‘city of rain’.<\/p>\n

Very much to our surprise, Bergen welcomed us with sunny summer temperatures and dressed in flowers. During the whole symposium not a single rain drop would appear. Also the symposium itself was a great success with many very interesting presentations, posters and workshops, not to mention the opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues all interested in one thing: zooplankton! Probably the only event, where people would get really excited about free Calanus stickers. The only downside was that we did not see the last baby dinosaurs.<\/p>\n
