Energy-flow pathways, food-web characteristics, responses to environmental drivers, and impacts of human activities will be assessed using the large databases contained at IMR and DFO. The two systems have experienced major changes in the last 20-25 years. Crashes in cod (and many other fish stocks) in Canada contrast with record high levels of cod in the Barents Sea. The reasons behind this will be explored, and vulnerability to petroleum exploration in both regions will be assessed.

Tromsø was the venue for the science-planning meeting of the foreign-ministry–financed project ‘CoArc: A transatlantic innovation arena for sustainable development in the Arctic.’ Seven collaborators from Canada and France met with local ARCTOS project members and invited guests on 12-14 October 2016 to define the work plan in the work package on ‘Trans-Atlantic ecosystem understanding.’ This 4-year project, involving Akvaplan-niva, […]

[10

post-641","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news

https://i0.wp.com/arctos.uit.no/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Presentation1-001.jpg?fit=1279%2C408&ssl=1
The Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Polar Marine Science took place in Tuscany, Italy, 9.-14.03.2025.
