FAABulous kick-off meeting
The brand-new ARCTOS project FAABulous: Future Arctic Algae Blooms – and their role in climate change had its kick-off meeting in Oslo 19.-21.5.2015. FAABulous was funded by the Norwegian Research Council under the 2014 OKOSYSTEM call, and receives 16 million NOK over the coming four years. Eva Leu” leads the project that involves five Norwegian institutions (Akvaplan-niva (lead), UNIS, UiT, UiN, NIVA), and five international partners (AWI, MPI-Met, SAMS, IOPAS, University of Plymouth). We will start with extensive field studies in two Svalbard fjord systems from September onwards, and comine our seasonal observations from these systems with experiments and modeling studies.
